TYPOGRAPHY
An informal introduction to typographic style with focus on letterform development. Building a core understanding of type through classification, anatomy, technical application, and artistic application. You need to learn the rules in order to break them.

The initial step to design and advertising is to start generating ideas. The best way is also the simplest – sketching. Drawing enables clarity of your own thinking as well as making it easier to explain your ideas. Use of notational and explanatory sketching is what enables designers, art directors, and copywriters to excel in idea generation.

WRITING
Content is king. The ability to use words, statements, and sentences is essential in allowing young professionals to develop initial concepts. Developing the capability of using language playfully is the foundation of branding and advertising – it builds differentiation and aids in market disruption – allowing for unique and memorable deliveries.

APPLICATION
When you have the ability and understanding of the core components – typography, sketching, and messaging – the final piece is format. The ‘what’ and the ‘how’ is determined by what medium is best suited for the message. Simplification and focus on applying message to format enables clarity and keeps the target audience happy and informed.
